The Colts will once again be without star quarterback Peyton Manning, who remains out with a neck injury. Linebacker Ernie Sims will be out for the Colts as well in week 3. Tight end Dallas Clark and receiver Blair White are questionable for the game and could make the passing game with Kerry Collins behind the line even harder to manage passing yards.

Offense: Pittsburgh enters the game off a great offensive performance against the Seahawks winning 24 to 0. However, in two contests the Steelers have put up 7 and 24 points respectively. It is hard to figure out which team will show up week in but the Colts should provide the Steelers a great chance to put up large offensive numbers. Passing yards rank in the top ten of the league for the Steelers, while the run game has been less effective with under 100 yards per game. The Colts have only managed to score 26 points in its two games so far this season. The Colts rank in the bottom half in both passing and rushing yards and only average 260 total offensive yards a contest.

Defense: The shutout last week against the Seahawks certainly showed the strength of the Steelers defense after allowing 35 points to the Baltimore Ravens in week 1. The key to the Steelers defense is their pass defense which sits ranked fourth overall in the National Football League allowing only 174 yards in the air on average each week. The Colts rushing defense is one of the worst in the league currently ranking 29th in the National Football League. The Colts give up over 136 yards on the ground each week. Passing defense is one of the few bright spots for Colts this season. The Colts only allow 207 passing yards a week which currently places them in 10th place in the NFL.

Over/Under: The Steelers have only put up 31 points in two weeks. After scoring only 7 points in week 1, the Steelers scored 24 points last week. The Steelers are likely to put up over 20 points this week against the Colts. The Colts have given up over 25 points in both contests but have only managed to put up less than 20 points in both games. If the Colts can contain either the pass or rush this game could stay under 50 points, otherwise the two teams could manage to combine for up to 60 points.

The Line: The number for this game has been changing and will need to be watched closely by bettors. The Steelers have been favored by nine to eleven points. A bet at nine offers great safety as the Steelers should win by two scores. Anything over ten points would have to probably be passed on.

Injuries: Two defensive leaders for the Green Bay Packers sat out this week of practice. Linebacker Clay Matthews and cornerback Charles Woodson did not participate in practice and are listed as questionable for this week’s contest. Woodson had two interceptions last week against the Panthers and his loss to injury would be a big blow for the defending Super Bowl Champions. The Bears are waiting on word of if receiver Roy Williams will be good to go in this divisional battle. Starting right tackle Gabe Carimi will be out of the contest for sure. Safety Major Wright did not practice this week for the bears. Additionally, starting safety Chris Harris is questionable for this game. The Packers are averaging almost 300 yards passing a game and could look to exploit the possible holes in the secondary of the Bears.

Offense: The Packers are ranked eighth in the league with their 295.5 passing yards per game. Rushing has also been successful for the Packers as they have put up 113.5 yards per game in two contests. The Packers have put up at least thirty points in both games this year due to their successful passing and rushing balance. The Bears rank in the bottom half of the league in both passing and rushing yards per contest. The Bears will need to establish either a passing attach or running game to keep up with the high scoring Green Bay Packers.

Defense: Sitting dead last in passing yards allowed per game is the Green Bay Packers with 400 yards per game given up. Starting Carolina Panthers rookie quaterback Cam Newton threw for over 400 yards against the Packers last Sunday. On the flip side the Packers rank sixth in defending the run holding its opponents to 76 yards per game. The Bears will need to improve on their bottom half performance of pass and run defense to hold the Packers in check. The Bears give up 220 yards passing on average and will need to lower that number to keep Aaron Rodgers from lighting them and the scoreboard up.

Over/Under: The Packers scored over thirty points in both contests and with the injuries in the Bears secondary are likely to have sportsbooks picking a large number for the over/under. The Packers have allowed 57 points in two contests this year. Both games they have played in have been over 50 points and the trend will likely continue in this matchup against the Chicago Bears.
